Don't let the title throw you, this book is a story about overcoming obstacles and following your dreams. I read this book with my seven year old granddaughter and we enjoyed reading about Claudia, a brave young woman who left her family in Mexico to travel to Texas to find a better life. Claudia finds a job, learns English, attends college eventually earning her teacher degree. Her determination and positive attitude help Claudia achive her goals. My granddaughter and I discussed how hard it would be moving to a new country where we didn't know the language or money or customs, this book can be enjoyed on many levels.

I found the book to be well organized with lists and outlines that will help readers to remember what is being taught. The advice is practical and realistic. The author is very descriptive and it is easy to get drawn into the example situations that are laid out as teaching aids.

It was disappointing that the kindle version of this book lacks a linked TOC, but you can flip directly from chapter to skip around in the book. The end of each chapter also contains a detailed list of references. I wish the author linked up those books to amazon links also.

Overall, this book contains absolutely essential information for the traveler who wants to stay safe. This is a must read!

Unfortunately, it has also created a lot of noise that can be difficult to cut through. Even though this book is written for OCONUS travel, I feel that the information contained within the book can help anyone heighten their sense of self/ environmental awareness. Mr. Emerson hit the ball out of the park with this book and made me realize a lot of issues that go unnoticed to the general public on a daily basis. I would recommend this to anyone who will be traveling OCONUS or anyone who is simply interested in learning about a new subject/ topic.
