Very Heart warming and extraordinarily funny

A very heartwarming story where all the characters have stories of their own that truly reflect the message of Lisa Feidler's series that many have come to love. I personally think that she should go deeper into the story with Hopper's siblings and write about what happens after everyone in the story have come to rest at ease.

This is my nine year-old's favorite book series! It is a bit gruesome and sad, but teaches valuable life lessons and I found it so much more worthwhile a read than many other book series that are on the market.

A comprehensive guide to almost every medicinal plant known...in 1931

Notes: These two books were originally printed in 1931 after being compiled from much older sources. Combined they appear to cover just about every medicinal plant and their uses known at that time, which numbers in the hundreds. Plant treatments for both minor and major life-threatening illnesses are included but being almost 100 years old, the information should often be viewed with some skepticism. Also note its archaic language and units of measure make figuring out how to apply these "cures" frustrating. It doesn't have a way of easily looking up what plants might be used to treat a particular problem which considering the size of the two volumes limits their practical usefulness.
The books have few pictures or other information on identifying the plants as well as being to large to bring into the field so you'll need another identification guide such as A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants and Herbs: Of Eastern and Central North America (Peterson Field Guide) to help with finding the plants in the wild.

Almost 2000 pages of information on herbs, including ink drawings, description and use information, general location, and historical notes. Impressive information resource. Some entries for better known herbs is very extensive and includes different methods of preparation.

K-Gr 2—A cuddly, white cub lives with a little boy in a home in which retro furniture and telephones with cords suggest the mid-20th-century. When the animal's size quickly outpaces the boy's (and the scale of the house), the child sets out to find a new habitat for his friend. The titular question becomes the narrative engine for a series of spreads taking the duo to places ranging from a toy store and zoo to the circus and jungle. Nothing suits the bear, until they arrive at the Arctic. The controlled palette for each spare composition relates to the changing colors of the (mostly solid) backgrounds. The boy's navy shorts and blue-and-white striped shirt are constants as are the white curves of the animal. Their friendship survives the distance, and the bear proposes a new trip together, setting up the boy to ask the question one last time. This pleasant but not distinguished foray into picture books by a British art director is strong on design but a bit short on sustaining narrative interest. With the exception of the circus scene, the bear is a static figure—either sitting or standing—in each new situation. The narrative wears a little thin, with no dramatic tension, action, or climactic rise in the plot or visuals to enliven the repetitive text.—Wendy Lukehart, District of Columbia Public Library

She studied Fashion at Central Saint Martins, accidentally had a London based career as an Art Director in advertising, then completed an MA at University of Brighton in Illustration. the best book ever this week

And the final book, the best book ever this week, is called Where Bear? And it's by Sophy Henn. And this just might be a perfect picture book. Where Bear? stars of boy and his bear, and the boy just continues to ask that reprised, "Where bear?" Where should you go? Where do you want to go as you're growing and growing larger? Where should your home be? And the boy searches all over to find "Is it a zoo? How about if we bring you to a toy shop? What about the jungle?" And no place is right. And so the boy keeps asking, "Well then where, bear?" And finally we find the just right place. But the other thing that works so well is not just the terse language in this book, but also the way that each background in this book is just a solid pastel color, a pastel and gray color. And we just see that boy and the bear, who are basically gray and white, black and white, right up front and right up close. They are the star of our book, and that's where our eyes will go for the entire book. It's a marvel to read. I think you're going to read and just sigh and be thankful that such wonderful books exist in this world. And that's why I'm calling Where Bear? by Sophy Henn the best book ever this week. Way to go!

What do you do with a bear you have outgrown?

What do you do with a bear when he’s too big for your house? You find him a new house……..but where? In the forest? In the circus? In a toy shop? Or in the zoo? These are questions a boy is pondering as he realizes that his little bear has grown up just like him and he feels that the bear needs room to be “bearish and big.” The duo sets off to find the perfect spot but bear is not satisfied with where the boy takes him. The boy finally comes up with an idea and it works. I think children will enjoy the book as it was a sweet relationship and the illustrations were simple.

This book has quickly become my 3 year old son's favorite. The illustrations are beautiful, and the story is adorable. We like to come up with reasons why we think Bear doesn't want to live in certain places. I love books that allow children to come up with a little story of their own. He always wants to read this book at least three times in a row. Beautiful work :)

About the Author

Stephen P. Robbins (Ph.D., University of Arizona) is professor emeritus of management at San Diego State University and the world's best-selling textbook author in the areas of management and organizational behavior. His books have sold more than five million copies, have been translated into 19 languages, and have adapted editions for Canada, Europe, Australia, South Africa, the Arab world, and India. Dr. Robbins is also the author of the best-selling The Truth About Managing People, 2nd ed. (Financial Times Press) and Decide and Conquer (Financial Times Press). Dr. Robbins' research interests have focused on conflict, power, and politics in organizations; behavioral decision making; and the development of interpersonal skills. In his "other life," Dr. Robbins actively participates in masters' track competition. Since turning 50 in 1993, he's won 21 national championships, 12 world titles, and set numerous U.S. and world age-group records at 60, 100, 200, and 400 meters. He was inducted into the U.S. Masters' Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2005.

Dr. Timothy Judge� received his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a master's degree from Illinois and an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. Previously, Dr. Judge was associate professor in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University, and the Stanley M. Howe Professor in Leadership in the College of Business Administration, University of Iowa. Dr. Judge's research interests are in the areas of personality and individual differences, leadership and influence behaviors, internal and external staffing, and job attitudes. Dr. Judge is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. In 1995, Judge received the Ernest J. McCormick Award for Distinguished Early Career Contributions from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and in 2001, he received the Larry L. Cummings Award for mid-career contributions from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management.

Good text

Robbins is one of the top selling authors in this field for good reason. The book is well organized and presented.

Also, to the people posting your complaints about shipping or condition of a used text, first, these are supposed to be reviews of the text, this is not ebay style transaction feedback. Second, if you order from the Amazon marketplace, you're not buying from Amazon, you're buying from a private seller. If you want the US edition, in good shape, order the book from Amazon, not amazon marketplace.

Standard text update, so the publisher can keep milking you

Not much new here, just enough to justify putting out a new textbook so the publisher can keep milking the business that education has become.

As the other reviews note, since you are buying the textbook from Amazon, you won't receive the code you need to access the online material. You have to pay even more through your school or direct from the publisher to get the access code.

Find out from your instructor if you HAVE to use the online materials, if not, buy it here, if you do, look elsewhere.

Great Book

It's just that simple: this is a GREAT book! It's very informative and easy to read, absorb and digest. I would surely recommend this book to others interested in organizational behavior.
